Defining common configurations
As an administrator, you can modify the out-of-the-box configurations that are provided in BMC Helix Innovation Suite Knowledge Management (ISKM) on a global level or for a specific company. Any value that you configure for a specific company overrides the setting that is applied globally.
The following table provides a list of configuration parameters that is provided out of the box in ISKM:

| ENABLE_USER_LOCALE_FOR_KNOWLEDGE_SEARCH | Enable this setting to return knowledge articles in the language of the user who performs the search. When the setting is enabled, the system searches for articles in the user’s locale. If no articles are available in that locale, the search falls back to the default system locale, and if no default locale is configured, it falls back to English. By default, this setting is turned off. This setting applies to knowledge searches in BMC Helix Business Workflows and BMC Helix ITSM. In BMC Helix Business Workflows, it affects global search, knowledge search from Quick Case, and knowledge search within a case. In BMC Helix ITSM, it applies to global search and knowledge search from incidents. To enable locale-specific search results
Log in to BMC Helix ITSM, BMC Helix Business Workflows, or BMC Helix Innovation Studio.
- (BMC Helix ITSM or BMC Helix Business Workflows) Select Application launcher > Knowledge Management.
- (BMC Helix Innovation Studio) Select Applications > Knowledge Management, and then click Visit deployed application.
Click Settings.
Expand Application Configuration and click Common Configurations.
- Click ENABLE_USER_LOCALE_FOR_KNOWLEDGE_SEARCH.
- To set the Configuration Value field to true, use the Active
toggle. - Click Save.
