Enabling BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker for BMC Helix ITSM


BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker is an add-on offering for BMC Helix ITSM that provides:

  • Collaborated and automated incident brokering to address some of the service management challenges faced when using services from multiple cloud providers.
  • DevOps integration features to enable DevOps teams to integrate their agile development tools for better collaboration.

As an administrator, you can enable BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker for BMC Helix ITSM.


To enable BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker

To use BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker, perform the following steps as an administrator:

  1. In Mid Tier, on the IT Home Page, select Administrator Console > Application Administration Console.
  2. Click the Custom Configuration tab.

  3. In the Application Settings, click Helix Multi Cloud Service Management and then click Integration.
  4. Click Application Configuration.
  5. Click Open to update the BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Service Management connection settings:

    Field

    Description

    Host

    Enter the BMC Helix Platform server host name.

    User Name

    Enter the BMC Helix Platform tenant administrator user name.

    Password

    Enter the BMC Helix Platform tenant admin password.

    Port

    Enter one of the following values: 

    • For the https protocol, enter 443. If 443 does not work, enter -1.
    • For the http protocol, enter 8008.

    Protocol

    Enter http or https.

  6. Click Search.

If the configuration is not done correctly or if you have entered incorrect values in any of the fields, the following error is displayed:
Error retrieving MCSM data, please contact your administrator.

After you have configured BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker application settings, you can view the information in brokered tickets from BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Broker in BMC Helix ITSM.

To update the BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Service Management password

If you change the password for BMC Helix Multi-Cloud Service Management, you must change the password in Mid Tier and also in classic Smart IT screens. As an administrator, perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to BMC Helix ITSM as an administrator.
  2. Click Configuration and select Admin Console Configuration.
  3. Click SmartIThamburgerMenu.PNGand select Configuration.
  4. In the Providers table, update the password for the Multi-Cloud Management pluggable provider.
  5. Click Update Settings and the click Reload Providers.
