Sharing proactive problem management jobs with others

As a problem coordinator or problem manager, you create jobs to generate clusters of the most impacting set of recurring incidents. You can then perform a root cause analysis of these recurring incidents.
You can also share a copy of your job with other users so that they can generate similar clusters for further analysis. By using this feature, the recipient users need not replicate the efforts in creating jobs for generating similar clusters.
Job details also appear in clusters downloaded from the dashboard. Alternatively, you can share downloaded clusters with other users to share job configuration details.

Important

A job shared amongst users may generate different cluster formations for each user based on their permissions.

What happens if I make changes to a shared job?

When you update a job that is shared with other users, you must resend it for them to view the updates.

Important

When you delete a shared job, it is not deleted from the recipient's system.

Click to view the scenarios of job sharing.

When you update and share the job again with the recipient user, the shared job is updated in the recipient user's system based on the following scenarios:

Scenario

How the job is updated in the recipient's system

Recipient action needed

The recipient user does not run and does not rename a job that you shared with them. You share the updated job with the recipient user again.

The updated job replaces the older version of the shared job.

NA

The recipient user runs the job that you shared without renaming it. You share the updated job with the recipient user again.

While the old job is still running, the updated job appears as a new entry in the job table.

If the maximum limit of job execution is not reached, the recipient can run the newly shared job simultaneously. However, the recipient must rename the newly shared job before running it.

The recipient user runs the job that you shared after renaming it. You share the updated job with the recipient user again.

The updated job appears as a new entry in the job table.

The recipient user must run the new job.
