Software licensing

Starting with version 21.3, BMC has stopped focusing on the software licensing module in BMC Helix ITSM: Asset Management. Over the past few years, software license management has evolved into a specialized domain. This is not a focus area for BMC Software. Future investments in the software license management domain will be limited to supporting the existing capabilities. 

Our innovations will be focused on the core ITSM capabilities that include software asset management capabilities, such as discovery of software assets, service modeling, life cycle management, and software configuration management.

Our strategy in software license management is to partner with the best-in-class vendors, such as Snow Software.
