Employee Navigator helps you complete everyday workplace tasks through simple, conversational interactions. Its prebuilt skills help you perform common actions, such as submitting service requests, managing approvals, accessing knowledge articles, and completing self-service tasks, directly within BMC Helix Digital Workplace UI or Microsoft Teams UI.

- Starting with version 26.2, chained‑prompt skills are no longer available for new installations of BMC Helix Digital Workplace.
- We recommend implementing the agentic AI approach to deliver the adaptive user experience in the Employee Navigator chat. This approach handles queries seamlessly, regardless of how the prompt is phrased. For more information, see Configuring Employee Navigator Supervisor agent.
Adopting an agentic AI approach for upgrade customers
- If you upgrade from an earlier release, your existing Employee Navigator chat might use chained‑prompt skills. These configurations continue to work, but we recommend moving to the agentic approach.
- To adopt the recommended approach, configure Employee Navigator by using the prebuilt Employee Navigator Supervisor agent. For more information, see Configuring Employee Navigator Supervisor agent.
- After moving to the agentic approach, reapply any customizations by cloning the prebuilt supervisor agent and making changes in the cloned version. For more information, see Modifying prebuilt agents and Creating and managing skills.
