Enabling real-time article translation


As a manager, you can enable real-time article translation in BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround by turning on the Auto translation setting. After you enable this setting, knowledge workers can machine-translate articles, making content available across multiple languages.

Before you begin

To enable the real-time article translation, you must have the Knowledge manager role in BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround. For more information about user roles, see Product overview.

To enable real-time article translation

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Knowledge Management by ComAround.
  2. Click Settings and select Administration.

  3. In the Portals section, click the Portal settings button next to the portal for which you want to enable the real-time article translation.

  4.  On the Portal settings page, click Platform specific settings, and then select the ComAround Knowledge platform.
  5. On the ComAround Knowledge tab, navigate to the Interface settings section.
  6. In the Interface settings section, enable the Auto translation setting.

  7. Click Save.

Result

After you enable the Auto translation setting, knowledge workers with the knowledge worker role can machine-translate knowledge articles in real time in the following ways:

  • Instantly translate an article: Machine translate any article into more than 100 languages, without the option to save the translated article.

  • Create a version of an article in another language: Machine translate any article into one or more of the languages that are enabled in the portal, with the option to save the translated version.
