User interface overview
Overview of user consoles in the BMC Helix Digital Workplace
BMC Helix Digital Workplace provides different interfaces for users based on their roles and actions. Administrators, Catalog administrators, end users, and external users can access the following consoles to perform their tasks:

BMC Helix Digital WorkplaceAdmin console | Access the Admin console to configure global settings or one-time configurations such as setting up end-user features, rebranding the end-user console, designing pages for lines of business, and analyzing user activities. Navigate to the Admin console from the end-user console by using a link in the menu under the user profile. On the navigation bar, select the user icon, and then click Administration. The page will be redirected to the Admin console. |

BMC Helix Digital WorkplaceCatalog console | Access the Catalog console to configure the service catalog for designing the services and workflows, building reusable questionnaires, managing BMC Helix Digital Workplaceuser roles, creating promotional banners, configuring connectors, and defining entitlements. |

BMC Helix Digital Workplaceend-user console | Log in to the end-user console to submit requests, find knowledge articles, schedule helpdesk appointments, work on assigned To-dos, respond to approvals, and access a chatbot. If the My Activity page is not visible on the navigation bar, navigate to the My Activity page by using a link added in the user profile menu. On the navigation bar, select the user icon, and then click My Activity. Important: If the administrator has removed the My Activity page from the navigation menu and has also assigned customized landing pages for users, those users cannot see the My Activity link in the user profile menu. External portal | Access BMC Helix Digital Workplace by an external portal as an external user. External users can register with their own email address and will have limited access to the BMC Helix Digital Workplace features. They can use the external portal to request services, find knowledge articles, and view notifications. For more information, see Portal-for-external-users.

Guest portal | Access BMC Helix Digital Workplace by using a guest portal as a guest user. A guest portal serves as a user-friendly gateway to information, services, and resources without requiring users to log in or disclose their personal identity. It is designed to provide stakeholders with easy access and quick transactions for public services.
