Enabling the catalog for the guest portal

As a guest administrator, enable support for the service catalog. When you log in to the Admin console as a guest administrator, you see limited application features and can select the checkbox for the Enhanced Catalog setting:

Enable catalog guest

Additionally, you should configure the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog for the guest portal and configure a connection to a Catalog server. To learn how to configure the catalog, see Enabling and configuring the enhanced catalog

Creating catalog services for the guest portal

To create catalog services, you need catalog administrator permissions. Log in to the BMC Helix Digital Workplace Catalog console. You can create services that unregistered guest users can submit or services that have public access. For example, for the government's public portal, you can design a Report Road Issues service. For the IT company's guest portal, you can create a service for asking about product information named Request Product Details and Pricing.

To create services, refer to Adding and updating services. Make sure you read the guest portal capabilities before you start adding services for the guest users. To understand the examples and supported scenario, see Using the BMC Helix Digital Workplace guest portal for self service.

Viewing a Digital Workplace Guest User Report

As a guest administrator, you can track the usage of the guest portal. For more information, see Reviewing active users.

Important

The Guest Portal does not have a Sign Out button for the guest user profile; hence, guest administrators don’t see this option if they access the guest user console link. To sign out, guest administrators have to use the guest Admin console.

The following table lists the options available in the guest Admin console based on the menubar and the reference links:
