The alarm could trigger on network errors such as duplicate ACKs, retransmits, or high response times (RTT).
The automated Packet Trace also requires an AUTOOPERATOR (AO) rule to be triggered by Alarm Management. The AO rule will start the Packet Trace for the specified TCP connection. Sample alarms AORTT, AODUPACK, and AORXMITS are shipped as distributed alarms with BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IP. In addition, sample AUTOOPERATOR rule RULPKTTR is shipped with BMC AMI Ops Monitor for IP.
