Step 4. Receive From Network the base code, cumulative maintenance, and HOLDDATA
This step receives from network the base code and cumulative maintenance from the SMP/E files into the CSI, SMPPTS, and SMPTLIBs. The installation facility has created the $04RECV job, which performs these processes. In addition, the job requests an SMP/E LIST HOLDDATA.
Before running the $04RECV or $04RCVTF job, you must edit the JCL and make changes as mentioned in the comments provided in the JCL member.
Secure FTP processing
For the Receive From Network process, use {{display reference="Mainframe.DevX.BMC-Installer-Mainframe-Products-SMPE-Installation.bcimpsi._SvIncludeLibrary._SvIncludePlusContent-_FTP.WebHome"/}} or {{display reference="Mainframe.DevX.BMC-Installer-Mainframe-Products-SMPE-Installation.bcimpsi._SvIncludeLibrary._SvIncludePlusContent-_FTPS.WebHome"/}}, whichever is appropriate for your site. Comments in the JCL provide guidelines and the SMP/E reference manual provides additional details on commands and parameters related to CLNTINFO. Review the CLNTINFO command and if necessary, uncomment the CLNTINFO command and the //CLNTINFO DD statement parameters for {{display reference="Mainframe.DevX.BMC-Installer-Mainframe-Products-SMPE-Installation.bcimpsi._SvIncludeLibrary._SvIncludePlusContent-_FTPS.WebHome"/}} support on your site.
- Review $04RECV or $04RCVTF for any necessary changes.
- Submit the job to start the receive process.
Review the job output.
