Receive maintenance by using Receive From Network (RFN)


To receive maintenance by using RFN:

  1. Customize the sample JCL provided in the email attachment order#_smpe_receive.txt as mentioned in the comments.
  2. Review the customized JCL.
  3. Submit the job to start the receive process.
  4. Review the job output.

Important

If you originally installed your product with the BMC Installer and used the Receive From Network (RFN) process, you can optionally re-use the $04RECV job you had used to install your products (see Step-4-Receive-From-Network-the-base-code-cumulative-maintenance-and-HOLDDATA).


    1. Copy the <PACKAGE information from the email attachment order#_smpe_receive.txt.
    2. Edit the $04RECV member and replace its <PACKAGE information (as shown in the following figure) with that of the email attachment order#_smpe_receive.txt.

      Warning

      Important

      If you are unable to directly Receive from Network and instead followed the procedure described in Tar-file-SMP-E-receive to stage your order to your z/OS UNIX workspace, use $04RCVTF instead of $04RECV.

    3.  Submit the job to start the receive process.
