VOLCNT

Use the VOLCNT keyword to specify the maximum number of volumes that will be required by an output data set created by dynamic allocation using nonspecific volumes.

This keyword is needed when the number of volumes required will exceed five, unless a list of specific volume serial numbers is supplied by using the VOLSER keyword.

VOLCNT is an optional keyword for the following subcommands:

ACTIVITY_FILECTL
DISCARD_FILECTL
IC
OFILECTL
PLAN_FILECTL

VOLCNT=<parameter>

Parameters

Specify a value from 1 through 255.

Default

If the VOLCNT keyword is not specified, the default is the IBM z/OS default.
