DYN_GEN

Use the DYN_GEN keyword to dynamically generate unload or extract data sets while running the UNLOAD or EXTRACT command.

Use

DYN_GEN is an optional keyword for the UNLOAD and EXTRACT commands and is used with the OFILECTL subcommand.

REUSE is an optional keyword that you can use with the DYN_GEN keyword to reuse the existing output data sets. The REUSE keyword is valid with the DYN_GEN keyword only.

Warning

Important

The REUSE keyword works only when the DYN_GEN keyword is set to YES.

Syntax

DYN_GEN=<parameter>
DYN_GEN=(YES,REUSE=<parameter>)

Parameters

Specify one of the following parameters:

Value

Description

YES

Dynamically generate unload or extract data sets and allocate one unload or extract data set per area.

NO

The keyword is ignored.

Warning

Important

If you have specified other keywords or parameters to unload or extract multiple areas into one unload or extract data set, then specifying NO unloads or extracts all these areas into a single unload or extract data set.

REUSE=YES

Reuse the existing output data sets.

REUSE=NO

(Default) Do not reuse the existing output data sets.
