Upgrading Infrastructure Management in the disaster recovery mode


The following procedure explains how to upgrade the TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server in disaster recovery mode on primary and recovery servers.

Before you begin

To upgrade the TrueSight Infrastructure Management in the disaster recovery mode

  1. Shutdown the recovery host and switch on the primary host. 
  2. Upgrade the TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server on a primary host. See Upgrading-the-Infrastructure-Management-server-on-Microsoft-Windows.
  1. Verify the connection of the primary TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server with the TrueSight Presentation Server. The component status should be displayed as Connected
  2. Stop the primary TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server processes and take a backup of the installationDirectory/pw/ folder. 
  3. Shutdown the primary windows host. 
  4. Switch on the recovery host and upgrade the TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server on a recovery host.
  5. Stop the recovery TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server processes and restore a backup of the installationDirectory/pw/ folder on the recovery windows host. 
  6. If you have configured a different alias for the primary and recovery hosts, manually update the recovery host name in the following files:

    installationDirectory/pw/server/etc/mcell.dir
    installationDirectory/pw/pronto/data/admin/admin.dir
    installationDirectory/pw/pronto/conf/cell_info.list

  7. Start the recovery TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server processes.
