Error message displayed during silent installation of Presentation Server

While installing the TrueSight Presentation Server silently, if the password that you have encrypted is longer than 30 characters, you might see the following error message: 

LOG EVENT {Description=[truesightPServerDBValidationTask.passwordNotValid[String:BMC TrueSight Presentation Server]],Detail=[The database password cannot exceed 30 characters.]}

Solution

Add the prefix DES\: to your password. For example, the password must resemble the following:

DES\:d70cbe3669602717ce66af37cce7ecf0
