Uninstalling the Infrastructure Management Server
This section explains how to uninstall the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server.
Uninstalling the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server on Microsoft Windows
To uninstall the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server on Microsoft Windows, perform the following steps:
- Navigate to the installationDirectory\UninstallTSIMServer directory.
- Double-click uninstall.exe.
- On the Welcome page, click Next to uninstall the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server.
- On the Uninstallation Preview page, click Uninstall.
On the Uninstallation Summary page, click View Log to view the uninstallation logs, or click Done.
Uninstalling the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server on Linux
If you are a non-root user and you want to uninstall BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server, the following directory and file must be removed by a root user before you can proceed with the uninstallation:
- /etc/init.d/BMCImpactIBRSD
- /usr/pw/pronto/conf/resources/en_US/kbinfo/kb_core_resource.properties
To uninstall the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server on Linux, perform the following tasks:
- Navigate to the installationDirectory/UninstallTSIMServer directory.
- Run the uninstall command.
You can view the tsim_server_uninstall_log.txt log file from the following location:
- linux/tmp
Uninstalling the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server with Oracle backend
If the Oracle database goes down before uninstallation, the following message is displayed:
Oracle database is currently unavailable. Please cleanup the Oracle Schema manually...
Uninstallation will go through without deleting the database objects and you will be asked to clean the database manually.
The following error message is logged in the uninstallation logs when the Oracle database goes down before the uninstallation.
Oracle database is currently unavailable and the schema could not be dropped. Please drop the Oracle Schema manually!
When the Oracle database goes down while deleting the database objects, the following error message will be logged in the uninstallation logs.
Failed to execute the command: <Installation Directory>/runjava scripts.DropSchema with return code: <Error Code>
Removing the Oracle database objects
If the Oracle database objects are not deleted while uninstalling Infrastructure Management, you can delete them manually. Run the cleanup_db.sql script present in the \Utilities\oracle\db_cleanup_script directory.
To remove the schema from the Oracle database, perform the following tasks:
- Copy the cleanup_db.sql script present in the Utilities\oracle\db_cleanup_script directory to the Oracle server.
- Run the script after logging on with the schema user created for Infrastructure Management.
To remove the oracle users and tablespaces used for TSIM, run the drop_pnet_orcl_db_objects.sql script available in the \Utilities\oracle\custom_db_scripts_pnet directory. The following objects are removed:
- TSIM main user, report user
- TSIM profile, TSIM role (if available)
- Default tablespace, temporary tablespace created for the TSIM user
