Creating cross functional ad hoc reports
You can create cross functional ad hoc reports by combining Event, Impact, and Performance data based on business requirements, by using the available universe objects. These join reports use the event and performance data generated by same BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server. The events generated by other BMC sources (for example, Remote Cell) can not be used in the event and performance join reports.
To create these join reports:
- Use separate queries for Event and Performance data.
- Join both queries using the merge dimension. Both queries must include the BMC TrueSight Infrastructure Management Server ID, Device ID, Monitor Type ID, Attribute ID, and Monitor Instance ID objects.
Objects under the following classes are common for event and performance data:
- Component
- Device
- organization
- monitor Type
- Monitor Instance
- Attribute
