Configuring an application to notify an application status change
In the TrueSight console and as an application specialist, you can configure an application to receive an application incident event when an application impact status changes. This ensures that you are continuously notified for any change in the application impact status while you are monitoring important applications. For example, if an application impact status is Major and consequently changes to OK status, you receive an Application Incident Event depicting the change in status. Similarly, if an application impact status is Minor and consequently changes to Critical, you receive an Application Incident Event depicting the change in status. The following diagram shows an application incident event generated when the application impact status changes.
By default, an application context event configuration is enabled for all types of applications: manual, and automatic that are monitored in the TrueSight console for any change in the application impact status. To disable this feature, perform the following sequence of steps.
Before you begin
Before you can configure an application to stop receiving the application incident event notification, ensure the following:
Your environment includes TrueSight Infrastructure Management.
To perform this procedure, you must have Application Administrator-level access
To configure an application to stop receiving an application incident event notification
By default, an application context event configuration is enabled. To disable this feature, perform the following sequence of steps.
- From the TrueSight console navigation pane, select Administration > Integrations.
- Under Application Context Event Configuration, click the action menu of the Application Event Configuration, and select Edit as shown in the following diagram:
Application Context Event Configuration page is displayed. - On the Application Context Event Configuration page, clear the Activate Integration check box and click Save.
Once you clear the Activate Integration check box, it disables the application incident event notification for any change in the application impact status.
