The HP_VIRTUALIZATION application class provides details of the HP Virtual Server environment in the BMC PATROL Console.

HP supports the following partition technologies that offer different levels of flexibility to accommodate the end user's requirements. The Node Partitions technology offers the least flexibility, and the flexibility increases to a maximum in Secure Resource Partitions:

  • Node Partitions (nPars)
  • Virtual Partitions (vPars)
  • Integrity Virtual Machines (VM)
  • Secure Resource Partitions

Note

  • HP_VIRTUALIZATION is a container that comprises the following instances: nPar, vPar, VM host, and VM guest.
  • The HP partitions, nPar, and vPar, use the DCM collection method, and the Integrity VM uses the XPC based PSL collection method.

This application class does not provide any menu commands because it automatically detects and monitors the partitions. It gathers and stores vital statistics in its parameters. Tasks for accessing information under the HP_VIRTUALIZATION container are described in the following sections:The [confluence_table-plus] macro is a standalone macro and it cannot be used inline.
