Edit expression

This dialog box enables you to create a new composite parameter expression. You can either enter the expression directly into the text entry box at the top of dialog box, or you can use the wizard for the creation of a composite parameter expression.

To create an expression, do the following

    • If you do not want the new composite parameter to be active immediately after you create it, deselect the Active checkbox.
  1. Select the Warning state or the Alarm state option to which you want to set the parameter when the condition specified by the composite parameter expression is satisfied.
  2. Select the True or the False option to specify whether you want the alarm or warning condition to occur when the expression evaluates to a true condition or a false condition.
  3. If you want to enter the composite parameter expression using the wizard, click Wizard.
    • The system displays the next panel of the expression entry wizard.
  4. If you want to enter the expression directly into the text entry box, see Entering-and-editing-COMPOSITES-parameter-expressions. The active state for the composite parameter does not affect the active state for the PATROL parameters used in the definition of the composite parameter; that is, you can make the composite parameter inactive, but the parameters used in the expression will remain active.
Warning

Note

If the parameters used in a composite parameter expression are inactive, the composite parameter will not be calculated.
