Configuring after installation
Use the SAP Cloud ALM monitor profile to monitor SAP application systems managed in SAP Cloud ALM and collect the status and health information in the BMC Helix Operations Management.
To configure SAP Cloud ALM monitoring
- In BMC Helix Operations Management, click Configuration > Monitoring Policies > Create Policy.
- On the Create Monitoring Policy page, select the Monitoring tab and click Add Monitoring Configuration.
- From the Monitoring Solution list, select SAP Cloud ALM.
- From the Monitor Profile and Monitor Type lists, select SAP Cloud ALM.
- In the Environment Details section, click Add.
- In the Tenant URL, enter the SAP Cloud ALM tenant URL used to connect to your SAP Cloud ALM environment.
- Select the required Authentication Type based on how your SAP Cloud ALM tenant is configured for external access:
- OAuth
- Certificate-based
- if the authentication type is Certificate-based, configure the following fields :
- In Client Certificate File Path (.pfx), enter the path of the client certificate file on the PATROL Agent server.
- In Client Certificate Password, enter the password to access the client certificate file.
- If the authentication type is OAuth, configure the following fields :
- In the OAuth client_id field, enter the client_id attribute value from your server key.
- In the OAuth client_secret field, enter the client_secret attribute value from your server key.
- In the Filtering Options section, configure the following fields:
- In Landscape Object Name Filter, enter the name of the landscape object to include or exclude from monitoring.
- From Landscape Object Name Filter Type, select the required filter type.
- In CALM Service Name Filter, enter the name of the service to include or exclude from monitoring.
- From CALM Service Name Filter Type, select the required filter type.
- In the Administration section, configure the following fields:
- In JAVA Home (1.8 or above), enter the path to the Java installation that is used to execute SAP Cloud ALM monitoring.
- In JVM Arguments, enter the JVM arguments to control the Java runtime behavior, such as memory allocation or garbage collection settings.
- To enable debug logging for SAP Cloud ALM monitoring, select the Enable Debug checkbox.
The log files are available at <PATROL_HOME/alm/log directory on the PATROL Agent server.
- Click OK.
