Configuring filters for data centers, clusters, hosts, and virtual machines
This topic provides information about configuring filters for data centers, clusters, hosts, and virtual machines and filtering hosts and virtual machines (VMs) based on the availability of fully-qualified domain names (FQDNs) in the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environment.
The filtered data centers, clusters, hosts, and virtual machines are included or excluded for monitoring depending on the search criteria you specify while configuring the filter.
To configure filters for data centers, clusters, hosts, and VMs
- Navigate to the RHEV Manager node under the REV_Manager_Container application class.
- Access the RHEV Manager node menu.
- From the menu, select the Manage Filters for RHEV Manager option to display the Configure Filter Options dialog box.
Enter the search criteria for the following resource types for which you want to configure the filters:
- DataCenter
- Clusters
- Hosts
- VMS
Use the search criteria guidelines to enter the search criteria.
- To filter out VMs or hosts based on the availability of FQDNs, select either of the following options:
- Disable (Default): If you select this option, all the hosts and VMs will be monitored.
- Enable: If you select this option, the hosts and virtual machines that do not have FQDNs will not be monitored.
- Click Apply.
Search criteria guidelines
Use the following guidelines to enter the search criteria:
- If you want to include name as the value of either of the fields, enter the value in the format shown in the following example: name = DataCenter1.
- Regular expression is not supported.. However, you can use wildcard character ( * ), Boolean operators (AND, OR), and =, != operators. For example, to find the hosts starting with 'm' and which have the status of 'Up', enter the following criterion: name = m* AND status = Up.
For information about the properties of a resource type that can be entered in the search criteria, see the Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization documentation.
