Configuring Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager
To configure Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager so that it can be monitored by BMC PATROL for Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, you need to create a user account in Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager. This topic provides instructions to create the user account.
To create the user account
- Access the Web Admin Portal of Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Manager from your web browser.
- Click the Configure link in the navigation toolbar.
The Configure window opens. - In the left pane, click the Roles tab if it is not already open.
- In the right pane, click the New button.
- In the New Role dialog box, enter the name of the role.
- Select Admin as the account type.
- Click OK.
- In the Configure window, click the System Permissions tab and perform the following steps:
- To grant a user with the permission to access information about the virtual machines, click Add.
- In the Add System Permission to User dialog box, select the user to whom you want to grant the permission.
- From the Role to Assign list, select the role that you created in step 5 and click OK.
- Click OK.
