For a list of recent updates and enhancements across multiple versions, see Release-notes-and-notices.
BMC applies upgrades as described in BMC Helix Upgrade policy . BMC applies upgrades and patches during Maintenance windows .
20.05.12
Generate annotations for top 10 processes exceeding CPU and memory thresholds
Generate annotations for the top 10 processes that consume the most CPU and memory usage when they exceed specific thresholds. For more information, see Configuring-Windows-KM and Configuring-Windows-Remote-Monitoring.
Added new attributes to Hyper-V Dynamic application class
The Hyper-V Dynamic application class introduces the following new attributes:
- Dynamic Memory (DynamicMemory)
- Memory Status (MemoryStatus)
- Memory Demand (MemoryDemand)
- Assigned Memory (AssignedMemory)
- Maximum Memory (MaximumMemory)
- Minimum Memory (MinimumMemory)
- Startup Memory (StartupMemory)
- Current Pressure (CurrentPressure)
For more information, see Microsoft-Hyper-V-Dynamic-Memory-HYPERV_DYNAMIC_MEMORY.
Added filtering options to Microsoft Hyper-V host
The following filter options are added to the Hyper-V Host remote monitoring configuration to monitor specific Hyper-V hosts:
- Hyper-V Host Name Filter - Cluster Mode
- Hyper-V Host Name Filter Type - Cluster Mode
For more information, see Configuring-remote-monitoring-of-Microsoft-Hyper-V.
20.05.11
Removal of the dependency from the NT_HEALTH application class
The dependency of Processor and Memory on the following attributes of the Health AT A Glance (NT_HEALTH) application class is removed in the remote monitoring:
- Total Processor Utilization (ProcessorUtilization): This attribute can be monitored even if the _TOTAL instance of the NT_CPU application is excluded from monitoring.
- Resource Contention (ResourceContention): This attribute can be monitored even if the _TOTAL instance of the NT_CPU application is excluded from monitoring.
- Memory Usage (MemoryUsage): This attribute can be monitored even if the MEMORY application is excluded from monitoring.
For more information, see Health AT A Glance (NT_HEALTH).
20.05.10
Support for new attributes in remote monitoring
The following attributes of the Health AT A Glance (NT_HEALTH) application class are supported in remote monitoring:
- Total Processor Utilization (ProcessorUtilization)
- Resource Contention (ResourceContention)
For more information, see Health AT A Glance (NT_HEALTH).
20.05.00 enhancements
Enable debug logs
A new monitor profile (KM Debug) is added to the KM to enable KM debug logs. For more information, see KM-Debug-monitor-profile
Disable automatic process monitoring
A new check box (Disable Automatic Process Monitoring) is added to the Windows Processes monitor type to disable default monitoring of processes.
By default, the processes for which you have configured the CPU threshold and time duration are monitored. You can use the new check box to disable it. For more information, see Configuring-Windows-Processes.
Updated attributes metadata
Aligned attributes metadata as per the BMC standards to have same look and feel across all KMs.
These changes would not affect your existing alarms and thresholds configurations when you upgrade to PATROL for Microsoft Windows Server 20.05.00.
