Monitor types and attributes

An application class is a logical grouping of individual applications, while an application group is a logical grouping of application instances. Within PATROL, you use application classes to define the attributes of all instances within an application class (global settings), or the attributes of a single application instance that has been customized (local settings).

Monitor types in the TrueSight console/ BMC Helix Operations Management and Central Monitoring Administration are known as application classes in the PATROL consoles.

Attributes in Central Monitoring Administration are known as parameters in the PATROL consoles.

You can access Central Monitoring Administration from the TrueSight console or ProactiveNet.

Google Compute Engine

Monitors the availability of Virtual Machine instances. Provides information about the CPU usage, disk operations, and network operations of the VM instances.

Google App Engine

Monitors the active versions of the deployed App Engine Services. Provides information about the CPU usage, disk operations, and network operations of the active versions.

Google Cloud Functions

Monitors the status of the Cloud Functions. Provides information about the execution time and execution count of the Cloud Functions.

Google Kubernetes Engine

Monitors the status of the Google Kubernetes Engine. Provides information about the cluster, namespaces, nodes, pods, and containers.

Google Cloud SQL

Monitors the status of the Cloud SQL instances (PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server). Provides information about the active directory, CPU, memory, network, disk, replication, swap, and SQL type (PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQL Server) specific metrics.
