Upgrading

Upgrade from version 1.0.00 to version 2.0.00 of BMC PATROL for Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop is not supported.

  • BMC PATROL for Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop 2.0.00 monitors Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop 7.5 and 7.6.
  • BMC PATROL for Citrix XenApp 1.0.00 monitors only Citrix XenApp 6.5.

Before you upgrade the Citrix environment and your monitoring environment, consider the following points:

  1. Stop the PATROL Agent from monitoring the Citrix XenApp v6.5 farm with 1.0 KM.
  2. Upgrade the Citrix environment
    1. Install BMC PATROL for Citrix XenApp and XenDesktop monitoring 2.0 on a new computer. If you plan to use the same computer that has PATROL Agent already installed, note that the history of 1.0 KM is not retained and you cannot leverage the old configuration. 
    2. Start PATROL Agent and configure the Citrix Site to monitor. 

Note

  • In PATROL history will not be retained and Configuration would not be leveraged.
  • In BMC ProactiveNet Performance Management and BMC TrueSight Operations Management, device creation remains the same. However, all the 1.0 monitors are marked for delete and new monitors are created for 2.0.
