New users

Novice users who have to use the product and require a detailed understanding the product.

Technology Specialist

Administrators are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the PATROL for Apache Kafka implementation.

Some of the tasks executed by an Administrator are:

  • Install the product
  • Create users or configure the KM, create and assign roles and access groups to users
  • Create a topic covering all relevant brokers.
  • Identify the location where the different Producers must be running
  • Configure the Producers to send messages in size and format that properly simulate the typical activity of the Kafka system.

End User

End Users of PATROL for Apache Kafka can represent a variety of different roles, such as IT Operations user and Solution Administrator. Some of the tasks that can be performed by an End User are:

 

  • Provide Kerberos security details
  • Configure the Apache Kafka KM
  • Create alerts to monitor performance of the configured Apache Kafka host

Support

Support of the PATROL for Apache Kafka are (internal or external) resources that can seek troubleshooting information about monitoring the KM.
