Two methods of sending SNMP traps
The PATROL Agent can send SNMP traps to an SNMP management console by using any of the following methods:
- Sending PATROL Events — sends a trap based on TRAP_SEND and NO_TRAP settings in event definitions
For information about how to configure the agent to send traps based on PATROL events, see SNMP configuration and implementation using PEM - Running a PSL function — sends a trap based on user-defined rules coded in PSL
For information about how to configure the agent to send traps based on PSL functions, see SNMP configuration and implementation using PEM
