Opening an existing change file

Use this procedure to open a previously saved configuration file containing changes to the default configuration. This procedure is useful if you want to apply specific changes to one or more PATROL Agents.

Before you begin

Before you begin to open an existing change file, make sure you have completed the following prerequisites:

• You have read Configuring the BMC PATROL Agent
• You have read Overview of the xpconfig configuration utility and Overview of xpconfig functions.
• You have started the xpconfig configuration utility.

To open an existing change file

1. At the primary window of the utility, select File > Open.
    The Configuration File dialog box is displayed. The default location containing a list of files with the cfg extension is $PATROL_CACHE/config.

2. Click the configuration file that you want.
3. Click OK.
    The primary window is displayed with the selected file in the title bar at the top of the window. All of the variables are displayed in the Variables list.
