24.1.02

Prevent publication of event updates for cancelled incidents

BMC Helix Operations Management does not publish event updates for the original event for which the incident was created to BMC Helix Intelligent Automation if the corresponding incident is manually cancelled in BMC Helix IT Service Management. This feature reduces event noise because of the following enhancements:

  • Failure events are not created in BMC Helix Operations Management
  • Automation policy failures are not created in BMC Helix Intelligent Automationfor cancelled incidents.

BMC Helix Operations Management executes the incidentinfoStatusUpdateProcessing out-of-the-box policy to avoid publishing event updates.

View situations for the services filtered by presets

You can view situations related to the services filtered by the preset defined on the Services page. If you select a preset on the Situations page, the situations related to the services that match the preset filter condition are displayed. This capability helps you narrow down the problems to the services of your interest and lets you focus on a limited set of problems.

Service Monitoring enhancements

This release includes the following service monitoring enhancements.

View change requests from ServiceNow Change Management

You can retrieve change requests from the ServiceNow Change Management system and view them in the context of a service. The contextual service change requests help in faster root cause analysis and resolution of issues. It also helps operators analyze the change requests that might have already impacted the service or might potentially impact the service and take proactive actions. You can retrieve change requests in the Open, Implement, Review, and Closed state.

To enable the connection with ServiceNow Change Management, you must use BMC Helix iPaaS, powered by Jitterbit. For more information about connecting with ServiceNow, see Getting details of ServiceNow change requests to BMC Helix AIOps, by using BMC Helix iPaaS

For information about viewing change requests associated with a service, see Monitoring-service-health and Performing-causal-analysis-of-impacted-services.

On the service details page, you can view ServiceNow change requests:

  • On the Health timeline, the exact time when the change request was created:

Save page preferences for the Services page in a preset

Use a preset to create a custom view of the Services page with the preferred filters. Presets store the severity filters, advanced filters, and page view settings. Therefore, you don't need to configure filters every time you log on to the BMC Helix AIOps console. When you select a preset, the Services page appears with the custom view, speeding up the troubleshooting process. Presets are saved for the logged-in user.

For more information, see Monitoring-service-health.

This breakdown helps you quickly identify key services that impact the parent service and take necessary actions.
