Deploying Redis Cluster

Redis Cluster provides high availability and scalable caching services across multiple Redis nodes in BMC Helix IT Operations Management (BMC Helix ITOM). If you are running a large BMC Helix ITOM deployment and experience issues with the default Valkey caching service, you can deploy Redis Cluster by re‑running the installer after a fresh deployment or an upgrade to BMC Helix ITOM 26.1.00. This approach allows you to add Redis Cluster support without redeploying the entire environment, provided the original deployment configuration remains the same and only the required Redis Cluster parameters are updated.

To deploy Redis Cluster

  1. Navigate to the helix-on-prem-deployment-manager/configs/deployment.config file.
  2. Set the RedisCluster parameter value to yes.
  3. Set the INSTALL_MODE parameter value to upgrade

    Important
If you are deploying Redis Cluster, do not change any other deployment parameters in the deployment.config file.

  4. Re-run the installer with the same configuration as in the earlier deployment by using the following command:
    ./deployment-manager.sh
