Downloading the deployment manager and container images

Download the deployment manager and the token to access container images from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) site. You can access the container images in the BMC public cloud by using the token.


To download the deployment manager and token

  1. Log in to EPD by using your Support user ID and password. You might also be prompted to complete the Export Compliance Form. If you are accessing this site for the first time, create a new EPD profile to specify the languages and platforms you want to download. For assistance with EPD, see EPD site help.

  2. Download the following installation files to the workspace directory:
    • BMC Helix OnPrem Container v22.4.00
      The  BMC Helix OnPrem Container v22.4.00  file contains the deployment manager helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-<release_version>.sh.
    • BMC Helix Operations Management OnPrem v22.4.00 Utilities for Linux
      Or
      BMC Helix Operations Management OnPrem v22.4.00 Utilities for Windows
    • Checksum SHA256 for BMC Helix OnPrem Container v22.4.00
    • Checksum SHA256 for BMC Helix Operations Management OnPrem v22.4.00 Utilities
    • Container Access Key

BMC Software recommends that you install the products or components from a local copy of the installation image and not from a network drive. Installing from a network drive can cause delays in completing the installation.



Container images

BMC containers images are distributed from containers.bmc.com. You can access the containers for the licensed products by using you registered support account and a new password. This password is held in a file which is downloaded with this PDF file. The password is shared between all the containerized BMC software that you have access to.

Check your downloads directory for the container-token.bmc file that contains your generated password.

To synchronize the container images, perform the following steps:

  1. Log in to the system where you downloaded and extracted the deployment manager helix-on-prem-deployment-manager-<release_version>.sh from EPD.
  2. Download the image list.
