This documentation supports the 21.3 (12.3) version of BMC Discovery.

Viewing a host container

A host container object in BMC Discovery represents a single physical device that acts as a container for hosts only, but is not a host itself. A host container node is created when a pattern discovers a contained host.

Before BMC Discovery 11.3, a host container was used to model more general purpose containers that could contain network or storage devices in addition to hosts. In BMC Discovery 11.3, for containers that contain network or storage devices in addition to hosts, the hardware container is used.

To view a host container

  1. From the main menu, select Explore > Data.
    The Infrastructure page opens.
  2. In the Hosts & Host Containers section, click Host Container.
  3. Select a host container from the list, as illustrated in the following screen.
