Product content TKU 2026-Jan-1

Technology Knowledge Update TKU 2026-Jan-1 contains additional product content for the 23.3, 24.1, 24.2, 24.3, and 25.2 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

The following features and enhancements are introduced within the scope of this release:

  • BMC HELIX PLATFORM: Enhanced the BMC Helix Operations Management (BHOM) pattern to support the following Knowledge Modules (KM) and MonitoredObjects (for more details, see the documentation here):
    • BMC PATROL for Apache Kafka KM (DRDC1-26937)
    • BMC PATROL for AWS_REDIS (DRDC1-27082)
    • PAF_POSTGRESQL_FLEXIBLE (DRDC1-27677)
    • PAF_STORAGE_QUEUE and PAF_STORAGE_TABLE (DRDC1-28231)
    • PAF_SUBSCRIPTION and PAF_AZURE_ACCOUNT (DRDC1-28184)
  • BMC HELIX PLATFORM: Improved the Import.Dynatrace.DynatraceImport pattern to prevent the following ECA error: "key expression requires a node, not none." For more details, see (DRDC1-28121).
  • BMC HELIX PLATFORM: Removed portal.azure.com's entity_id from external_ids for remote monitoring scenarios in Azure KM to prevent duplicate associations with monitored objects. For more details, see (DRDC1-28119).
  • CLOUD/AZURE: Added support for automatic Kubernetes scanning in Azure Kubernetes Service (Azure AKS) clusters by using private or alternative URLs, with the alternative URL included as a query parameter in the main cluster URL. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27364).
  • CLOUD/GCP: Corrected the version and product version reporting for Kubernetes Clusters in Google Cloud to display the Current Master Version or Current Node Version instead of the Initial Cluster Version. For more details, see (DRDC1-28165).
  • CLOUD/IBM: Added support for discovering IBM Cloud Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) subnets. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27088).
  • CLOUD/OCI: Added a new region — Italy North (eu-turin-1). For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28225).
  • CLOUD/MONGODB ATLAS: Added a new region — Madrid, Spain (spaincentral). For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-28212).
  • NETWORK DEVICES: Enhanced handling of Meraki API responses to return correct port IDs for devices with a single network interface. For more details, see (DRDC1-28291).
  • NETWORK DEVICES: Improved the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) pattern to handle non-standard autonomous system (AS) paths with duplicate autonomous system numbers (ASNs). For more details, see (DRDC1-28082).
  • STORAGE: Added total_capacity and consumed_total_capacity attributes to StorageSystemGroup in NetApp REST and NetApp ONTAPI patterns. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27684).
  • STORAGE: Enhanced NetApp volume discovery to include the following additional attributes: creation date, snapshot count, snapshot policy name, and encryption type. These attributes are now modeled for File Systems (NetApp Volumes) nodes by using the NetApp REST API. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27931).
  • STORAGE: Improved NetApp E-Series Storage Device discovery to ensure the device name is reported correctly. For more details, see (DRDC1-27701).
  • STORAGE: Updated the Huawei OceanStor REST pattern to discover Fibre Channel (FC) ports on OceanStor Dorado 8000 storage systems. For more details, see the documentation here and (DRDC1-27935).

    Defects

    The following defects are fixed within the scope of this release: 

    • CLOUD/AWS: Resolved an issue where node tags were not updated or removed when the AWS resource tag list became empty during a scan. For more details, see (DRDC1-27835).
    • CLOUD/AZURE: Resolved an issue where scanning Azure resources resulted in a critical log message. For more details, see (DRDC1-28202).
    • CLOUD/OCI: Fixed an ECA error in the OCI.ExadataInfrastructure.InferExadataVMCluster pattern that occurred when a value was unexpectedly none during Oracle database instance processing. For more details, see (DRDC1-28257).
    • CMDB SYNC: Fixed a mapping error in the CMDB.Group_StaticApplication.Group_StaticApplication extension that caused sync failures. For more details, see (DRDC1-28192).
    • PYTHON VERSION: Fixed multiple SyntaxWarnings caused by invalid escape sequences in Python code. For more details, see (DRUD1-54301).

    Changes to discovery commands

    Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2026-Jan-1.

    Model changes

    TAXONOMY: Fixed a bug with Container RuntimeEnvironment nodes for containerized software missing from search results. For more details, see (DRUD1-53887).
