IBM SVC/Storwize Storage Systems

BMC Discovery leverages IBM SVC Embedded SMI-S to discover and communicate with IBM SVC and IBM Storwize storage systems. The management software is interrogated to discover any storage entities that it is managing. Once discovered, the storage entities are modeled in BMC Discovery.

Prerequisites

  • The IBM SVC Embedded SMI-S Provider for IBM SVC and IBM Storwize must be properly activated according to the vendor specific requirements
  • Credentials for the IBM Storwize V7000 Unified Storage Manager. These credentials should be entered as WBEM credentials in BMC Discovery.

Supported Platforms

  • IBM SVC operating system (EOS) v4.3.x, v5.1.x, v6.1.x and 7x
  • IBM Storwize V7000 Unified

The minimum user role required is 'monitor'
