IBM Cleversafe Storage Systems

IBM Cleversafe storage systems are discovered through SNMP and created by the pattern IBMCleversafe.

IBMCleversafe pattern is triggered when a confirmed IBM StorageDevice is created with model Slicestor 2448, Accesser 3105, or IBM Cloud Object Storage. It validates discovery access and creates a StorageSystem. The pattern links the new StorageSystem to the managing parent and to the discovery access for inference tracking, sets DNS domain data, and connects related NetworkInterface and IPAddress nodes. For Accesser models, it marks only non-bonded network interfaces with resource unit storage, so front-end client-serving ports are counted while bonded interfaces are excluded.

Procedure

Initial setup

To configure the discovery of Lenovo ThinkSystem storage systems, you need to add corresponding credentials:

  1. Go to Manage > Credentials.
  2. Add new SNMP credentials.

Test credentials

To prevent discovery issues due to invalid credentials, it is recommended to test your credentials before running a scan:

  1. Go to Manage > Credentials.
  2. Go to Action > Test menu next to the credentials entry.

If your test is successful, scan the IP Address of the system.
