Dell EMC PowerVault Storage Systems are discovered using the Dell EMC PowerVault REST API. When a Dell EMC PowerVault REST API discovery of an IP address finds a storage entity, 
a Storage Device node representing the system is created. The creation or confirmation of the Storage Device node triggers the Dell EMC PowerVault Storage Systems (REST) pattern.
The storage discovery pattern continues the discovery of the storage entity using further Dell EMC PowerVault REST API requests to discover the associated storage components. 
Once discovered, the storage entities are modeled in BMC Discovery.

Prerequisites

Requires BMC Discovery v12.0 and higher.

Requires a Dell EMC PowerVault user account with Rest API access. The user account must have the permission to perform GET requests:

1. Create “Dell EMC PowerVault Web API” credentials in BMC Discovery by providing the Dell EMC PowerVault user account with REST API access.
2. Directly scan the IP Address of the Dell EMC PowerVault manager console.
