This page details the storage information collected for each of the supported Dell EMC PowerVault Storage Systems discovered in your IT infrastructure via the Dell EMC PowerVault REST API.

Storage Systems Information
To get an overview of the storage information discovered for Dell EMC PowerVault Storage systems:
- From the Home page, locate the Quick View section and click the Storage System icon to display the list of the discovered storage systems.
- In the Storage System list, double-click the Dell EMC PowerVault storage system you wish to access.

The table below lists the System Storage Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.
Storage System Information | Description |
|---|---|
Name | The name of the storage system. |
Type | The type name of the storage system. |
Vendor | The storage system vendor. |
DNS Domain | The Domain Name System (DNS) of the storage system. |
Model | The model name. |
Serial Number | The storage system serial number. |
Status | The operational status of the storage system. To simplify the reading, the status values are categorized as OK, Degraded, Failed, or Offline. |
Status Detail | The operational storage system status as exposed by the device's vendor. |
Contained Hardware | The name of the hardware container (node) for the storage system. |
Total Disk Space | The total available space in the storage system. |
Total Capacity | The total capacity of the storage system. |
Total Consumed Capacity | The total space consumed in the storage system. |
Percentage Consumed | The percentage of space actually consumed in the storage system. |
Total Available Capacity | The total capacity not consumed in the storage system in bytes. |
Total Subscribed Capacity | The total subscribed capacity in the storage system in bytes. |
Percentage Subscribed | The percentage of subscribed capacity in the storage system. |
Total Oversubscribed Capacity | Total space oversubscribed in the storage system. |
Storage Device | The name of the storage device for this storage system. |
Storage Processors | A summary table showing the storage processors in the storage system. For each processor the following information is displayed:

Storage Volumes | Displays the number of related storage volumes. This is also a link to the Storage Volume List page. To see the storage volume page, click the corresponding table row. Refer to the Storage Volumes Information section for details. |

Hardware Container Information
A Hardware Container in BMC Discovery is a node that regroups all the available information about the discovered hardware components for a storage system.
To access the collected information for hardware containers click the Hardware Container link available from the Storage System page.
The table below lists the Hardware Container Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Name | The name of the hardware container. |
Type | The type of the hardware container. |
Model | The model name of the hardware container. |
Serial Number | The hardware container serial number. |
Hardware Vendor | The name of the hardware container manufacturer. |
Disk Drives | The list of the disk drives that are grouped in the hardware container. |
Storage System | For Main System Chassis type only — Link to the storage system(s) related to the hardware container. |
Pattern | Link to the related pattern information. |
Storage Devices Information

A storage device in BMC Discovery represents a discovered Dell EMC PowerVault storage chassis . This section provides information about the Storage Device on Dell EMC PowerVault Storage Systems.
To access the collected information for storage devices, click the Storage Device link available in the Storage System page.

The table below lists the Storage Device Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Name | The name of the storage device. |
Type | The type of the host. For example Self-contained NAS. |
Vendor | The storage device vendor. |
DNS Domain | The Domain Name System (DNS) of the storage device. |
Model | The model name of the storage device. |
Testing Status | The result of the connectivity test. |
Serial Number | The storage system serial number. |
System Name | The storage system name. |
System Object ID | The storage device unique identifier. |
OS Class | The operating system class. |
OS Type | The operating system type. |
OS Vendor | The operating system vendor. |
Storage Systems | The name of the storage system for this storage device. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page. |
Discovery Access | Provides information about the discovery access nodes created for the storage device. |
Storage Pools Information
This section provides information about the storage pools for the selected storage system.
- To access the collected information for storage pools, click the Storage Pools link available in the Storage Device page.
- In the Storage Pools list, double-click the storage pool you wish to access.
The table below lists the storage pools information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Pool ID | The internal identifier of this storage pool. |
Type | The type of this storage pool. |
Name | The name of this storage pool. |
Capacity | The usable capacity of this storage pool. |
Consumed Capacity | The space actually consumed in this storage pool in bytes. |
Percentage Consumed | The percentage of space consumed in this storage pool |
Available Capacity | The total capacity not consumed in this storage system in bytes. |
Configured Volume Capacity | The sum of all mapped volumes. |
Subscribed Capacity | The total subscribed capacity in the storage pool. |
Percentage Subscribed | The percentage of space consumed in the storage pool. |
Oversubscribed Capacity | The total space oversubscribed in this storage pool. |
Storage System | The name of the storage system for this storage pool. This is also a link to the Storage System page. |
Storage Volumes | The volumes for the storage pool. This is also a link to the Storage Volumes page. |
Storage Volumes Information
This section provides information about the storage volumes for the selected storage system.
To access the collected information for storage volumes:
- Select the Infrastructure option in the Explore menu, and then the Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
- Select a storage system from the list.
- Click the Storage Volumes related link in the Storage Volumes section to display a list of the storage volumes associated to the storage system.
- Click a Storage Volume in the list.
The table below lists the Storage Volumes Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery Console.

Volume ID | The ID of the storage volume. |
Name | The name of the storage volume. |
Type | The type of the volume. |
NAA ID | The Network Addressing Authority identifier of the volume. |
Thinly Provisioned | Indicates whether the volume are thinly provisioned or not. For example, if the volumes are not thinly provisioned, it displays No. |
Visible Capacity | The visible capacity of the storage volume in bytes. |
Consumed From Pool | The capacity consumed from the storage pool related to the storage volume in bytes. |
Consumable Capacity | The consumable capacity in the storage volume in bytes. |
Percentage of Pool Consumed | The percentage of capacity consumed in the storage volume. |
Block Size | The block size of the storage volume. |
Number of Blocks | The number of blocks of the storage volume. |
Consumable Blocks | The number of consumable blocks of the storage volume. |
Storage Pool | The name of the storage system for this storage volume. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page. |
Storage Processors Information
This section provides information about the storage processors managing data transfer for the selected storage system.
To access the collected information for storage processors:
- Select the Infrastructure option in the Explore menu, and then the Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
- Select a storage system from the list.
- Click a Processor Identifier name in the Storage Processors section.
The table below lists the Storage Processors Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery Console.

Vendor | The hardware vendor. For example, EMC Corporation. |
Description | The model description. |
Model | The model name. |
Serial | The serial number of the processor. |
Memory | Size of the processor's memory in bytes. |
Storage System | The name of the storage system. This is also a link to the Storage System page. |
Front End FC Ports | List of the front-end FC Ports for this processor. Refer to the Front End FC Port Information section for details. |
Network Interfaces | List of the network interfaces related to the storage processor. |

This section provides information about the fiber channel ports transmitting data for the selected storage system.
To access the collected information for Fibre Channel Ports:
- Select the Infrastructure option in the Explore menu, and then the Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
- Select a storage system from the list.
- Click a Processor Identifier name in the Storage Processors section.
- Click a Port Name in the Fiber Channel Ports section.

The table below lists the Front End FC Ports Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery Console.

Port Name | The name of the front end FC port. |
WWPN | The World Wide Port Name — Unique serial number of the front end FC port. |
Role | The role of the FC port. |
Type | The front end FC port type. |
State | The front end FC port state. |
Speed (Gb/s) | The front end FC port speed (in Gbit/s). |
Storage Processor | The storage processor for this port. This is also a link to the Storage Processor page. |
Network Interfaces Information
This section provides information about network interfaces. To access the collected information for network interfaces:
- From the Processors page, click the Network Interface link you wish to access.
The table below lists the Network Interface Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Interface Name | The name of the network interface. |
MAC Address | The unique identifier assigned to the network interface. |
Speed (Mbps) | The speed of the network interface. (Available according to the interface type). |
IPv4 Addresses | List of IPv4 addresses used by the network interface. |
Interface Type | The type of interface. |
Storage Processor | The storage processor related to the network interface. |
IPv4 Address Information
This section provides information about the IPv4 addresses used by the storage system.
To access the collected information for the IPv4 addresses, click the IPv4 Address Link of the Storage System page.
The table below lists the IPv4 Address Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.
IP Address Information | Description |

IP Address | The IP address of the storage system node. |
Type | The type of IP address. |
Netmask | Indicates which part of the IP address is reserved for the network and which part is available for host use. |
Broadcast Address | The broadcast address within the subnet. |
Network Interface | The network interface related to the IP address. |
Storage System | The storage system related to the IP address. This is also a link to the Storage Systems page. |
Subnet | The sub-networks for the IP address. |
FQDNs | The fully qualified domain name related to the IPv4 address. |
