TKN Pattern Versioning Conventions

This section describes the convention used by the TKN team for changing the version numbers of patterns. The version number is given as a MajorVersionNumber.MinorVersionNumber.

Minor version increment

A minor change to a pattern is one which does not affect the main SI attributes such as name, type, or key. Changes that would result in an increment to the minor version of a pattern are:

  • adding versioning to a pattern
  • adding a new versioning method
  • bug fixes

    Major version increment

A major change to a pattern is any one which changes the name, type, or key attributes.
