Feature updates

The following features and enhancements are introduced within the scope of this release: 

• CLOUD/AWS: Added an auto-generated flag on Azure VMs automatically deployed by some services (Azure Databricks, Azure VDI, etc). For more details, see (DRDC1-24137) and the documentation here.
• CLOUD/AWS: Added a new cloud region — Asia Pacific (Malaysia) (ap-southeast-5). For more details, see (DRDC1-24553) and the documentation here.
• CLOUD/AWS: Updated the pattern to ensure that AWS MultiSAN certificates content is synced to BMC CMDB. For more details, see (DRDC1-24420).
• CLOUD/GCP: Added full support for GCP Virtual Private Cloud. For more details, see (DRDC1-16514) and the documentation here.
• CLOUD/GCP: Removed the extra request (Google.Compute.Global Forwarding Rules.List) from the list of GCP common requests. For more details, see (DRDC1-24400).
• CLOUD/OCI: Added a new cloud region — Saudi Arabia Central (Riyadh) (me-riyadh-1). For more details, see (DRDC1-16514) and the documentation here.
• CLOUD/OCI: Added support for modeling Exadata Cluster of Clusters of VMs. For more details, see (DRDC1-24038).

• CMDB SYNC: Added an ability to optionally modify the CTI (category, type, item) values. By default, the CTI values remain "Unknown". HEADS-UP: In 3-5 months, we will change the default CTI values. For more details, see (DRDC1-23486) and the documentation here

• CMDB SYNC: Improved host syncing to BMC CMDB. For more details, see (DRDC1-24447).
• NETWORK DEVICES: Enhanced the OS classifier for devices running McAfee Linux. For more details, see (DRDC1-22468).

• STORAGE: Added a relationship between ESX vSAN and Virtual Hosts. For more details, see (DRDC1-22118).
• STORAGE: Dell EMC PowerMax Symmetrix (REST): Added the symcli-base package to obtain a Unisphere version. For more details, see (DRDC1-24117).
• STORAGE: IBM FS7300 and FS9200: Updated the storage systems to prevent an issue when sending REST requests. For more details, see (DRDC1-24435).
• STORAGE: NetApp: Added a new REST API. For more details, see (DRDC1-23314) and the documentation here.
• STORAGE: The "Allocated Capacity" attribute of Storage System nodes will be deprecated in 3-5 months. Added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute in the Dell EMC PowerMax and Dell EMC SC Series patterns. It is identical to the "Allocated Capacity" attribute. Also, added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute to the IBM FlashSystem pattern. For more details, see (DRDC1-22592).
• STORAGE: Updated the configuration file for all the storage patterns to display Pool and Volume with their name instead of their ID. For more details, see (DRDC1-24229).

Defects

The following defects are fixed within the scope of this release: 

• CLOUD/GCP: Fixed an issue with automatic Kubernetes scan by using Vault credentials. For more details, see (DRDC1-24501).
• CMDB SYNC: Fixed an issue with an incorrect CMDB Namespace - Deployment model relationship. For more details, see (DRDC1-24528).
• PLATFORM SCRIPTS: Fixed a Windows PowerShell Initialise script to prevent issues with AWS SSM scans. For more details, see (DRDC1-24584).
• STORAGE: Huawei OceanStor REST: Fixed an issue with the duplication of multiple node kinds. For more details, see (DRDC1-24292).
• STORAGE: IBM Spectrum Virtualize: Fixed an issue that prevented pattern discovery in WBEM. For more details, see (DRDC1-24555).
• STORAGE: NetApp Storage REST: Fixed an issue with missing filesystems. For more details, see (DRDC1-24362).
• STORAGE: SunStorageTek: Fixed an ECA error caused by the absence of a serial number found for the storage system. For more details, see (DRDC1-24367).

Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2024-Oct-1.

Model changes

Taxonomy is updated for the following:

• TAXONOMY: Added administrative relationships (such as Family, LifecycleStatus, and Person) to the Namespace and LoadBalancerInstance nodes. For more details, see (DRDC1-23701).
• TAXONOMY: Added a UI visible link from the DetailDetail node to the Database node. For more details, see (DRDC1-24520).
