NexentaStor Storage Systems (REST) Discovered Information


This page details the storage information collected for each of the supported NexentaStor Storage Systems (REST) discovered in your IT infrastructure.

Storage Systems Information

To access the collected information for NexentaStor Storage systems:

  1. From the Home page, locate the Quick View section and click the Storage System icon to display the list of the discovered storage systems.
  2. Double-click the NexentaStor storage system you wish to access in the Storage System list.

The table below lists the System Storage Information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Storage System Information

Description

Name

The name of the storage system.

Type

The type name of the storage system.

Client Access Types

The ways in which a client host can access the storage that this system is providing.

Vendor

The storage system vendor.

DNS Domain

The Domain Name System (DNS) of the storage system.

Model

The storage system model name.

Software Version

The software version of the storage system.

Hardware In Use

Hardware Container(s) used by this Storage System.

Total Consumed Capacity

The total space consumed in the storage system.

Total Oversubscribed Capacity

Total space oversubscribed in the storage system.

Managed by Storage Device

Link to the storage device page. Refer to the Storage Devices Information section for details.

Storage System Group

The name of the Storage System Group related to the storage system.

Maintaining Pattern

Displays the number of related storage pools. This is also a link to the Storage Pool List page.

Storage System Groups Information

A storage system group in BMC Discovery represents a set of multiple physical systems whose storage capacity and computing power are grouped to behave as on single storage system (cluster).

To access the collected information for storage system groups:

  1. Select the Infrastructure option in the Explore menu and Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
  2. Select a storage system from the list.
  3. Click the Storage System Group link in the Cluster/Group section.

The table below lists the Storage System Group information as discovered and displayed in the BMC Discovery console.

Name

The name of the storage system group.

Type

The type of the storage system group.

Storage Systems

The storage systems that make up this group.

Storage Device

The storage device(s) related to the storage system group. This is also a link to the Storage Devices page.

Storage Pools

The storage pools are related to the storage system group.

Hardware Container Information

A Hardware Container in BMC Discovery is a node that regroups all the available information about the discovered hardware components for a storage system. 

To access the collected information for hardware containers, click the Hardware Container link available in the Hardware In Use section of the Storage System page.

Hardware Container

Description

Name

The name of the hardware container.

Type

The type of hardware container.

Model

The model name of the hardware container.

Hardware Vendor

The name of the hardware container manufacturer.

Disk Drives

The list of the disk drives that are grouped in the hardware container.

Storage Systems

Link to the storage system(s) related to the hardware container.

Pattern

Link to the related pattern information.

Storage Device Information

To access the collected information for storage devices:

  1. Select the Infrastructure option in the Explore menu, and then click Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
  2. Select a storage system from the list.
  3. Click the Storage Device link in the Storage Device section.

Storage Device Information

Description

Name

The name of the storage device.

Type

The type of storage device.

Vendor

The storage device vendor.

Model

The model name of the storage device.

Serial Number

The storage device serial number.

OS Class

The operating system class.

OS Type

The operating system type

OS Version

The version of the operating system is installed on the storage device.

OS Vendor

The operating system vendor.

Firmware Version

The version of firmware installed on the storage device.

Infrastructure

The information related to the storage device infrastructure is typically a list of the related storage system groups and storage systems.

Inference

The discovery access history for the storage device.

Storage Pools Information

This section provides information about the storage pools for the selected storage system.

To access the collected information for storage pools:

  1. Select the Infrastructure option in the Explore menu, and then click Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
  2. Select a storage system group from the list.
  3. Click the Storage Pools-related link in the Storage Pools section to display a list of the storage pools associated with the storage system group.
  4. Click a Storage Pool in the list.

Storage Pool Information

Description

Pool ID

The ID of the storage pool.

Type

The type of storage pool.

Name

The name of the storage pool.

Capacity

The usable capacity of the storage pool.

Consumed Capacity

The space actually consumed in the storage pool in bytes.

Percentage Consumed

The percentage of space consumed in the storage pool.

Available Capacity

The total capacity not consumed in the storage pool in bytes.

Oversubscribed Capacity

The total space oversubscribed in the storage pool.

Data Reduction Ratio To One Hundred

The savings that represent the combination of inline compression and inline deduplication are presented as a ratio.

Storage System Group

The name of the storage system group for this storage pool. This is also a link to the Storage System Groups page. Refer to the Storage System Group Information section for details.

File Systems

The file systems for the storage pool. This is also a link to the File System page.

Disk Drives Information

This section provides information about the disk drives for the selected storage system.

To access the collected information for disk drives:

  1. Select the Infrastructure option in the Explore menu, and then click Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
  2. Select a Hardware Container from the Hardware In Use section.
  3. Click the Disk Drives-related link in the Disk Drives section to display a list of the disk drives associated with the storage system.
  4. Click a Disk Drive in the list.

Disk Drive Information

Description

Name

The name of the disk drive.

Type

The type of disk drive.

Speed

Speed of the disk drive (in RPM).

Size

The size of the disk drive is in bytes.

Vendor

The name of the disk drive vendor.

Model

The model of the disk drive.

Serial Number

The serial number of the disk drive.

Current State

The current state of the disk drive.

Position

Physical position code of the disk drive in the enclosure.

Hardware Container

Name of the hardware container related to the disk drive.

File Systems Information

This section provides information about the file systems for the selected storage system.

To access the collected information for File Systems:

  1. Select the Infrastructure option in the Explore menu, and then click Storage Systems in the Infrastructure Summary section.
  2. Select a Storage System Group and then a Storage Pool.
  3. Click the Storage Pools related link in the Storage Pools section to display a list of the storage pools associated with the storage system group.
  4. Click a Storage Pool in the list.
  5. Select a File System.

Filesystem Name

The name of the file system.

Alternative Filesystem Names

The file system aliases names.

Kind

The file system kind.

Type

The file system type.

Size

The file system size in bytes.

Used

The space used on the file system in bytes.

Used Percentage

The percentage of space used on the file system.

Free

The space available on the file system in bytes.

Free Percentage

The percentage of free space available on the file system.

Storage Pool

Link to the storage pool(s) related to the file system.
