Product content TKU 2024-Jun-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2024-Jun-1 contains additional product content for the 21.05, 21.3, 22.1, 22.2, 23.1, 23.3, 24.1, and 24.2 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

CLOUD/AWS: Added a licence_model attribute the Oracle Database Server SoftwareInstance hosted on AWS cloud. For more details, see (DRDC1-23371) and the documentation here.

CMDB SYNC: Updated linking between Hosts and StorageSystems. For more details, see (DRDC1-23245).
CMDB SYNC: Updated the CMDB sync mapping pattern to prevent duplicates during the sync of NetworkService to BMC_LogicalSystemComponent. For more details, see (DRDC1-22919).
HOST: Improved execution of the whoami command in Solaris init platform script (DRDC1-23458).
HOST: Improved the discovery of mounted drives assigned to a drive letter on Windows hosts (DRDC1-23279).
NETWORK DEVICES: We now discover Fortinet firewalls managed through FortiManager. For more details, see (DRDC1-22085).

STORAGE: Added support for Dell EMC PowerFlex 4.5. For more details, see (DRDC1-23119) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: HP 3PAR: Updated the type attribute for in the StorageSystem node. For more details, see (DRDC1-23556) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: NetApp StorageGRID: Updated the pattern to discover a serial number value of the storage system if the information is available in the REST API response. Otherwise, the serial number is not available, its value is set to "none". For more details, see (DRDC1-23378) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: The "Allocated Capacity" attribute of Storage System nodes will be deprecated in TKU March 2025. Added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute in the Dell EMC PowerMax and Dell EMC SC Series patterns. It is identical to the "Allocated Capacity" attribute. Also, added the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute to the IBM FlashSystem pattern. For more details, see (DRDC1-22592).

Defects

The following defects are fixed within the scope of this release:

CLOUD/AWS: Fixed an issue with a missing public_ip_addr attribute in the Amazon WorkSpaces pattern. For more details, see (DRDC1-23467).
CLOUD/AZURE: Fixed an ECA issue that occurred during the discovery of Microsoft Azure regions. For more details, see (DRDC1-23463).
CMDB SYNC: Fixed an issue related to the sync of EOL and EOS dates from BMC Helix Discovery to BMC Helix CMDB. For more details, see (DRDC1-23620).

Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2024-Jun-1.

Taxonomy is updated for the following:

TAXONOMY: Added a subtype attribute for the Cluster node. For more details, see (DRDC1-22538).
TAXONOMY: Added relationships between the HardwareComponents, LoadBalancerService, SoftwareInstance nodes and Family, LifecycleStatus, Person nodes. For more details, see (DRDC1-23464).
TAXONOMY: NetApp Storage System: Added a new "High Availability" relationship to represent two physical storage system nodes existing in "High-Availability Pair" (HA Pair). For more details, see (DRDC1-23080).
