Product content TKU 2024-Mar-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2024-Mar-1 contains additional product content for the 21.05, 21.3, 22.1, 22.2, 23.1, 23.3, and 24.1 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

STORAGE: ESX Storage: Improved the linking of VVols (from Pure Storage FlashArray discovered with REST) to hosts. For more details, see (DRDC1-22683) and the documentation here.

STORAGE: The "Allocated Capacity" attribute of Storage System nodes will be deprecated in TKU March 2025. It is identical to the "Total Consumed Capacity" attribute in the Dell EMC ECS Storage, HP 3PAR Storage, IBM SVC/Storwize Storage, and NexentaStor Storage Systems patterns. It is identical to the "Total Logical Consumed Capacity" attribute in the Dell EMC PowerMax, Dell EMC SCSeries, and IBM FlashSystem patterns. For more details, see (DRDC1-22814).

The following defects are fixed within the scope of this release:

CLOUD/AWS: Fixed an issue with a missing cloud_instance Host attribute. For more details, see (DRDC1-22690).
CLOUD/AZURE: Fixed an issue with Azure Virtual Machine linkage to Linux hosts. For more details, see (DRDC1-22618).
CLOUD/AZURE: Fixed an issue with missing Load Balancer services when scanning the Microsoft Azure cloud. For more details, see (DRDC1-22893).
CLOUD/AZURE: Fixed an issue with the Azure SQL Virtual Machine scan. For more details, see (DRDC1-22832).
CLOUD/AZURE: Fixed an issue with the Azure StorSimple service. For more details, see (DRDC1-22831).
CLOUD/GCP: Fixed an exception during the Discovery scan with a firewall rule including IPv6. For more details, see (DRDC1-22520).
NETWORK: Fixed an issue with a missing boot_time attribute from the inferred NetworkDevice. For more details, see (DRUD1-47032).

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2024-Mar-1.

TAXONOMY: CMDB sync: We now use an instanceID for Cloud hosts instead of UUID. For more details, see (DRDC1-21925).
