Manually creating an analysis


To manually create an analysis:

  1. In the Analysis wizard, select the Skip wizard and continue using the analysis editor option in the Welcome step. For more information, see Creating-an-analysis.
  2. Configure the parameters of the new analysis as described in Editing-an-analysis.

For example, to create an ERTA analysis, specify the following mandatory information:

  1. General tab: 
    • Name: Name of the new analysis.
    • Description: Brief description of the analysis.
    • Type: Select Enterprise Reporting.
    • Template group: Filter over the available templates by category; choose Enterprise Reporting for built-in templates, or Custom if you created a custom ER template.
    • Template: Choose a template for the analysis, e.g. "Time Analysis".
    • Update policy: Decide how the analysis should be updated ("Manual", "Automatic on page access", or "Automatic on time filter, system and business driver changes").
  2. Filters tab: Select one of the available time filters.
  3. Data mart definition tab: Specify the following information:
    • Table type: Specify if you wish to select an SQL data mart table from a drop-down list or manually enter its name. You can select either select SQL data mart or Manually specify.
      • SQL data mart: Select one of the options from the list displayed. This list is available if you select SQL data mart as the option for the Table type field.
      • Data mart name (manual): Specify the data mart name. This option is available if you select Manually specify as the option for the Table type field.
    • Timestamp column: Choose the column to use as timestamp.
    • Displayed columns (metrics): Select all columns that you wish to display.
    • Series identifier columns: Select all columns that you wish to use to identify series.
  4. Click Save.
