BMC Helix ITSM application components


The BMC Helix ITSM suite provides out-of-the-box ITIL®-oriented IT Service Management functionality. It streamlines the processes around the IT service desk, asset management, and change management operations. Your subscription to BMC Helix ITSM includes access to the following core applications (limited to the actual services purchased):

Provides a professional development environment that helps you to create and automate many business processes without learning a programming language or complex development tools.

Provides a process that focuses on getting users up and running after disruptions (for more information, see Using Incident Management)

Provides a process for determining the root cause of a problem, and on using the Change Management process to correct the root cause (for more information, see Using Problem Management)

Provides a system of planning, scheduling, implementing, and tracking changes that need to be completed within an organization (for more information, see Change Management overview)

This module helps you plan, build, test and deploy controlled releases into your IT environment using built-in ITIL best practices.

Enables IT professionals to track and manage enterprise configuration items (CIs) — and their changing relationships — throughout the entire asset life cycle (for more information, see BMC Helix ITSM: Asset Management overview)

Provides a configuration management database (CMDB) coupled with common user, programmatic, and reporting interfaces to accelerate attainment of BSM. Access the CMDB functionality through the BMC Helix CMDB overview.

Enables a service provider, such as an IT organization, a customer support group, or an external service provider, to formally document the needs of its customers or lines of business by using service level agreements, and provide the correct level of service to meet those needs (for more information, see BMC Service Level Management overview)

BMC Knowledge Management is a knowledge-based application for authoring, searching for, viewing, using, and managing knowledge intended for use in resolving issues (for more information, see BMC Helix ITSM: Knowledge Management overview).

Designed with the non-technical user in mind, Smart Reporting is an easy-to-use report writer delivering drag-and-drop simplicity for formatting and data selection.

Select customers will keep the BMC Helix Innovation Studio - Reporting User service as long as they have extended support from BMC. Please see the Statement of direction for Smart Reporting

BMC Helix Dashboards is a SaaS service on the  BMC Helix Portal that offers unified reporting and gives you a consolidated view of data from applications across your environment. You can easily create, export, and share interactive dashboards with users within or outside your environment.

Smart IT provides a single interface to create multiple ticket types like incidents, work orders, or service requests. For additional information, see Using Smart IT.

Provides a self-service application for business users to connect with IT anywhere, anytime, on any device
