Downloading the container access key


Download the deployment manager and the token to access container images from the BMC Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) site.

To download the container access key

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Electronic Product Distribution (EPD) site.
    You must log in with your BMC Helix Support ID.

  2. Select Product Downloads > Product Download Tool.
  3. On the Products tab, in the search box, search for BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations.
  4. Click the product version (for example, 26.1.00).
  5. To generate a token to access the container images, perform the following steps:
    1. On the Product tab, click Container Access Product.

      A dialog box to generate the Personal Access Token (PAT) is displayed.
    2. On the dialog box message to generate PAT, click here.

      You are navigated to the Docker UI with a user configured for you.
    3. Go to Settings > Personal access tokens.

    4. On the Personal Access tokens page, click Generate new token.
    5. In the Create access token section, specify the values for the following fields:
      FieldDescription
      Access token descriptionSpecify a description for the token that you want to generate.
      Expiration dateSelect the expiry date of the token.
      Access permissions

      Select the Read-only permission from the list.

      Important: You have only read access to the BMC Helix repositories.

    6. Click Generate.
      A token is generated and displayed on the Copy access token page.

  6. Copy and save the token details. This token is required as a password to pull images from BMC Helix DTR during the setup of a Harbor registry or when performing the installation.

Important

When you switch the organization to bmchelix by using the Docker personal list on the Docker page to access repositories, you might encounter an error.  
This is expected behavior because the page is designed for managing tokens and not for accessing repositories.
To access repositories, perform the following steps:

  1. On the Docker page, on the left navigation pane, click Hub, and then select Repositories.
    The Repositories page initially shows no repositories.
    2. To view the repositories, click Docker personal list, and switch your account to bmchelix
