User interface overview
BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations, accessible from BMC Helix Portal, offers an intuitive console for managing connectors. Use the connectors to collect data from third-party products and send it to BMC Helix applications.
The main pages in the console, Connectors and Streams, provide easy navigation for creating and managing connectors and data streams.
Connectors page
When you log on, by default, the Connectors page is displayed. On this page, you can create connectors to establish connections with third-party products. This page also displays the list of connectors that are already created, the source and destination of each connector, and the data streams that are running for each connector.
You can perform the following tasks on the Connectors page:
UI element | Description | Reference |
---|---|---|
Create | Create new connectors for third-party sources. Add a new data stream for an existing connector. | |
![]() | Delete an existing connector. | Editing and deleting connectors |
Configure Mediator | Edit an existing connector. | Editing and deleting connectors |
Status | Move the slider to the right to start all the data streams for a connector. Move the slider to the left to stop all the data streams for a connector. | Managing data streams |
Streams | Start, stop, and delete an individual data stream. | Managing data streams |
![]() | Back up and restore the connectors configurations. Delete a backup when no longer needed. | Backing up and restoring connector configurations |
Streams page
The Streams page displays the details, such as the source, destination, and last run status of each data stream that is configured for a connector.
You can view the following information on the Streams page:
UI element | Description |
---|---|
Source | Displays the third-party source from which BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations is collecting data. |
Destination | Displays the destination where BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations is sending the collected data. |
Collector -> Distributor | Displays the status of the data collector and distributor. If the icons of both collector and distributor appear in green for a stream, it indicates that the collector is collecting data from the third-party source and the distributor is distributing the collected data to the BMC Helix applications. A red icon indicates that an error has occurred. If both icons appear in gray, it indicates that the stream is not running. |
Run Latency (max/avg) | Displays the maximum and average time (in ms) between a request sent to a third-party source and the response received by BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations. Important: When you modify a connector or restart the BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations on-premises gateway, the value is reset to No Runs. BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations maintains new records after the connector is restarted. |
Items (Avg per Run) | Displays the average number of items collected by all the runs. Important: When you modify a connector or restart the on-premises gateway, the value is reset to No Runs. BMC Helix Intelligent Integrations maintains new records after the connector is restarted. |
Last Run Status | Displays the start and end time of the last data collection run and the number of items collected in the last run. Important:

You can perform the following tasks on the Streams page:
Task | Description |
---|---|
Start and stop a stream | Use the Active button to start or stop a stream. If a stream is started, the scheduled time for the next run is displayed. |
Run a stream once | Click Run Once to force run a stream once and collect data from the source. The stream must be started to enable the Run Once button. |
