Configuring the BMC Helix JSON API data source plug-in

As a tenant administrator, use the BMC Helix JSON API data source plug-in to collect data from BMC Helix application by using the API endpoints.

Important

We recommend that you do not use the BMC Helix JSON API data source for collecting data from the following query types:

  • Audit query
  • Events query 
  • Metric query
  • Log query
  • Service Management

For the above query types, use the BMC Helix data source plug-in.

To configure the BMC Helix JSON API data source plug-in

  1. In BMC Helix Dashboards, select Configuration dashboard_settings_icon.png> Data sources.
  2. Click Add data source.
  3. Select BMC Helix JSON API data source plug-in.
  4. On the Data Sources Settings page, enter a name for the plug-in.
  5. By default, the Application Type is set to BMC Helix Application.
  6. Specify the tenant URL.
  7. Click Save & test to complete the configuration.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
