Monitor and track aged incidents with the Incident Aged Backlog Analysis dashboard

Use the Incident Aged Backlog Analysis dashboard to view the metrics of all open incidents based on the following categories:

  • Number of open days
  • SLA status
  • Priority

Analyze these metrics to identify improvement areas for service desk processes and take necessary actions on aged incidents. These actions keep the service desk KPIs on track.

Learn about Dashboards improvements

This release includes the following improvements:

For the BMC Bar Chart panel plug-in:

  • Categorize configuration options for a better user experience.
  • Change the size, color, orientation, and other formatting for data labels.
  • Change the date and time format used for category labels.
  • Rotate category labels to improve visibility.
  • Change the width of bar charts to reduce space wastage.

For the visual query builder:

  • Filter data based on enum values.
  • Drag fields from the Fields area to the Filters area.
  • Delete fields in the Fields area by using the drag-and-drop option.

Enhanced Self Monitoring dashboard

The Self Monitoring dashboard contains the following enhancements:

  • Viewing the hot retention duration of a tenant in the Log Volume panel. With this enhancement, you can view all data related to logs in a single dashboard.
  • Opening the Event Details page in BMC Helix Operations Management from the Log Events panel. With this enhancement, you can quickly open an event from the dashboard for quicker resolution.

  • Create data links for dimension fields.
  • Perform alignment of text in table rows and columns.

Add a date and time to the name of a report file to be shared via email.

For the visual query builder:

  • Specify whether you want to use the Distinct clause in SQL queries.
  • Remove all the current field selections by using the Reset option.
  • Preview the SQL query.

Build queries by using the visual query builder

Use the visual query builder to create SQL queries for the Service Management query type. You can create queries even if you have no prior knowledge of SQL.

Configure the default data source component

Configure the default data source component for the BMC Helix data source. After you configure a dashboard panel, this component is displayed as the default option in the query type list for quick access. For details, see Configuring-dashboards-panels-and-queries.

Focus the Prediction Analysis dashboard with filters

Focus your view by filtering data based on the service name and impact severity type. By default, the dashboard displays the prediction analysis for all services and severity types. For details, see Monitoring service predictions.
