Asset Inventory dashboard

As a dashboard user, you can use the Asset Inventory dashboard to get the inventory details of asset type Computer Systems, such as the count of assets, the refresh and purchase trend of assets, the count of spare assets, and so on.

Example: Tracking the spare laptops in the inventory

Jim, a service desk agent has received a request for a spare laptop. For fulfilling this request, Garth, the asset manager wants to check the number of spare laptops that are available in the inventory.

The following image shows the Asset Inventory dashboard with sample data:

To view the dashboard

  1. On the left navigation pane, hover your mouse over the Dashboards icon dashboard_icon_dec_push.png and click Manage.

  2. Click the Helix ITSM folder and then click Asset Inventory.

    Tip: Quick access from the home page

    To quickly open the dashboard from the home page, mark it as a favorite by using the star icon. Additionally, after you open a dashboard, it is available under Recently viewed dashboards on the home page.

Assets in Inventory

Dashboard filters

Displays the following custom filters to view the asset inventory information on the dashboard:

  • Company
  • Site
  • Primary Capability

Additionally, you can filter the data by using the date and time range global filter. By default, the search result displays the data of last 30 days.

Total Assets

Displays the total number of assets in the inventory.

Asset Distribution by Site

Displays the number of assets in the inventory available at different locations in a bar chart.

You can click the bar charts to view the asset details. The asset details are displayed in the Drill through -Asset Details dashboard.

On the Drill through -Asset Details dashboard, when you click the asset name, it opens the asset record in Smart IT.

Asset Distribution per Site

Displays the number of assets available at different locations based on the following parameters in a cross-tab:

  • Site
  • Primary Capability

You can click the value of assets to view the asset details. The asset details are displayed in the Drill through -Asset Details dashboard.

On the Drill through -Asset Details dashboard, when you click the asset name, it opens the asset record in Smart IT.

Spare Assets

Total Assets

Displays the total number of spare assets in the inventory.

Asset Purchase and Refresh Trend

Purchase Trend (by Count)

Displays the trend of purchasing assets in a chart.
